Lake Louise, AB – On September 25, 2015 at 4:55 PM Lake Louise RCMP, with the assistance of Parks Canada, responded to a report of a sudden death near Lake Louise. Investigation has determined that two individuals from Calgary were scrambling up the common route of Mount Temple in Banff National Park when a female fell during their descent. Tragically the female hiker died due to the injuries she sustained. The conditions had deteriorated during their descent, which included heavy snowfall and high winds which likely played a factor in the fall.
The investigation is continuing with the assistance of the Office of the Medical Examiner and no further details are available at this time.
The identity of the deceased will not be released. Next of kin has been notified.
