On July 18, 2016 at 4:00 PM Lake Louise RCMP responded to a report of a male who fell out of a canoe on Moraine Lake. Lake Louise RCMP responded along with Lake Louise Fire Department and Parks Canada Public Safety. The unresponsive male was taken to shore where CPR was initiated. The male was transported from Moraine Lake via helicopter to Banff EMS. The male was later pronounced deceased.
The investigation continues with the assistance of the Office of the Medical Examiner.
The identity of the deceased will not be released, pending the notification of next of kin.
