Lougheed, Alberta – On August 7th, 2014 at 4:19 pm, Killam-Forestberg RCMP were dispatched to a complaint of a missing four year old boy from a rural residence. RCMP, Flagstaff County, Killam Fire and Provincial Emergency Medical Services attended.
On arrival, family had located the boy, unconscious and not breathing; face down in a nearby slew. STARS Air Ambulance was dispatched, CPR and lifesaving efforts were performed, but unfortunately the young boy could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The boy was visiting relatives with his mother, and at some point during the visit had left the main residence. He was not noticed as missing until an hour later, as it was believed he was with another family member. Family contacted police and began searching the property.
The RCMP will not be releasing the name of the child as per wishes of the family.
