Cochrane RCMP continue to investigate a collision which occurred on the Stoney First Nation between a vehicle and a person. At 8:00p.m., on March 23, 2015, RCMP were called to a residence on the west side of the Stoney First Nation where a male had been injured after being struck by a vehicle. The victim, a 28 year old male from the Stoney First Nation was transported to hospital via ambulance and is currently in serious but stable condition. The vehicle did not remain at the scene but was located a short time later, as was the driver, also from the Stoney First Nation, who has been arrested. The vehicle has been seized by police and is awaiting a forensic examination. The drivers name cannot be released at this time pending the formal laying of criminal charges once the investigation is complete, which is expected to be later today.
