High River, Alberta – On August 15th, 2016, High River RCMP responded to a complaint of theft of batteries from a rural location just west of the community of Blackie, on 224 Avenue and Highway 23. An unknown person(s) gained access to heavy equipment being used to repair 224 Avenue and removed the batteries. Six (6) “Caterpillar” brand batteries were taken with an approximate value of $2000.00. The incident is still under investigation.
This is the second such occurrence in the past week with an unknown person(s) taking 8 batteries from a display sign at the same location.
An update will be provided when new information becomes available.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have information regarding this occurrence to contact the High River RCMP at 403-652-2357.
