RCMP High River – Northbound Lanes Highway 2 Reopened Following Fatality


The north-bound lane (east lane) of Highway number 2 has been opened to traffic.  This matter continues to be investigated.

On Thursday August 27th, 2015, at approximately 6:53 am, High River RCMP responded to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 2 approximately 10 Km south of High River, Alberta. A northbound Ford F-150 pickup truck left the roadway and struck an approach causing the truck to roll. The crash resulted in the ejection of 1 male passenger who was pronounced deceased at the scene. 3 other occupants were transported to hospital – 2 by ambulance and 1 by S.T.A.R.S.   Integrated Traffic Services, Cayley & High River Fire Departments and EMS all attended to the collision to assist. Currently the passing lane remains open in the northbound lane of Highway 2 however the driving lane remains closed pending the attendance of the RCMP Collision Analyst. A second media release will follow once both northbound lanes of Highway 2 are fully open. The collision remains under investigation.
