RCMP High River – Motor Vehicle Collision

High River RCMP – On August 24th, 2015,  just before 6pm, an off-duty  High River RCMP member was traveling to work, when he came upon a motor vehicle collision. The collision between a 2003 Ford Fusion and 2006 Chevrolet Colbalt occurred at the traffic circle located on 12th Avenue at Centre Street. As a result of the collision, the Colbalt left the roadway, striking a utilities box on the west side to the traffic circle, before coming to a rest. The damage to the utilities box required Fortis to attend to make the area safe for the 2 drivers and the first responders. The High River Fire Department,  along with Fortis, worked to clean up the damage and restore power to area residents. A 60 year old male, driver of the Colbalt, was transported to hospital by EMS and later released. A 33 year old male was the lone occupant of the Fusion and he was not injured. This matter remains under investigation.
