RCMP High River: Male Charged with Robbery and other Offenses

High River, Alberta:  On February 12, 2016 the High River RCMP responded to a complaint of a break and enter to a residence, and robbery involving a weapon.  A male forced his way into a home in a rural area north west of High River, and stole the victim’s vehicle before fleeing the area.  Police responded, and were continually receiving updates on the suspect’s location.

The suspect crashed the first vehicle, and while police were closing in on him, he forced his way into another home within the High River town limits.  The suspect male then stole the second victim’s vehicle and fled the area.

The RCMP’s attempts to locate the stolen vehicle were hampered by extreme fog, and the suspect was able to evade capture.  From further investigation into the incidents, and with cooperation from the victims, a suspect was identified.  A 33 year old man from Medicine Hat has been charged with 2 counts of break and enter, 2 counts of robbery, 1 count of forcible confinement, and 1 count of possession of property obtained by crime.

He is currently remanded into custody.
