On Tuesday September 2, 2014 at 1140 AM, The High River RCMP received a complaint of a break and enter, which had just occurred in the north-west portion of the community. The owner was home at the time and she heard a loud bang coming from the detached garage. When she went outside to check for the cause of the noise, she found a male climbing through a broken garage window. The female homeowner confronted the male suspect and a brief physical altercation ensued resulting in both parties falling to the ground. The male suspect who was located in the garage was accompanied by another male individual who was standing just outside the backyard. Both males, each with their face covered, fled on foot towards Highwood Lake. One male was wearing a mustard colored hoodie, while the second was wearing a black cap and blue jeans. Both are believed to be around twenty years of age. An RCMP Police Service Dog was called to assist with the search, however neither male could be located. Anyone with any information on this or any other crime are asked to contact the High River RCMP Detachment or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
