On April 9th, 2016 at approximately 1:50 in the afternoon, an employee working in the 500 block of Centre Street in High River entered the office which was closed at the time to find two males committing a break and enter. When the employee entered the office, one of the males assaulted him by pushing him to the ground before departing through the front entry door of the office. A second male ran to the back of the office to the kitchen area. Before the worker could call 911, the second male came up behind him and attempted to stab him in the back with an edged weapon. The worker did not sustain any injuries in the attack. The worker managed to fight off the second male who further attempted to stab him during a struggle. The second male suspect dropped the edged weapon before pushing the victim to the ground again. He then fled the building on foot.
The worker described the two males as Caucasian, between the ages of 18-25. The first male was estimated to be 5 feet 4 inches tall, thin build, clean shaven and black hair. He was wearing a long sleeve black shirt and was described as having a triangular face. The second male was estimated to be between 5 feet 7 inches and 6 feet tall, facial hair, and was wearing a blueish/grey winter jacket. The second male suspect may have incurred injuries to his right forearm.
A composite drawing has been completed for the second male suspect. High River RCMP would like to speak to the individual who can be identified in the drawing.
