RCMP – High River and Nanton – Weekend Update


RCMP High River – Vehicle Rollover On Highway 2
On July 19, 2015, High River RCMP was dispatched to a single vehicle roll over on Highway 2 and 594. The Highway was shut down in both directions for approximately four hours while Police and emergency personnel were on scene. The driver of the vehicle was airlifted to Foothills Hospital via STARS while the two passengers were transported via ambulance. Both passengers have since been discharged.  The driver suffering more serious injuries, non life threatening, is still in hospital. The collision is still under investigation however alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
Nanton RCMP CDSA Search Warrant
On July 17th, 2015, at approximately 1630 hrs.,  Nanton RCMP members executed a CDSA search warrant on a residence in Nanton, Alberta.  Information received indicated the resident has been selling marihuana.  During the course of the investigation leading up to the warrant, three full patch members of the DRIFTING SOULS Motorcycle Club had been observed frequenting the residence.
The search of the residence produced 5 marihuana plants, 40 marihuana seeds, 284 grams of marihuana, and other various drug relates material.
The approximate street value of the marihuana seized is approximately $8980.00.
A single male was arrested on scene and charged with Possession for the Purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.
