RCMP Gleichen UPDATE – Siksika Pedestrian MVC


UPDATE
A 17 Year Old Female from Siksika has been charged in relation to the collision that occurred On August 23rd.  The female is charged with the following Criminal Code offences;
Count 1) Dangerous Driving Causing Bodily Harm 249(3) CC
Count 2) Fail To remain at Collision 252(1)(a) CC
Count 3) Take Motor Vehicle with out Consent  335 CC
Count 4) Impaired Operations of Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm 255(2) CC.
On August 23rd, the female was arrested on T’usu T’ina Nation.  She was released by a Justice of the Peace to appear in Siksika Provincial Court on September 10th, 2015.
The victim, a 27 year old male also from Siksika, remains in the Hospital in critical but stable condition.
Gleichen RCMP continue to investigate the collision.

At about 7:30 AM, Gleichen RCMP were dispatched to a Motor vehicle Collision involving a pedestrian.

MVC occurred near the Bow river on the Siksika Nation. Both the pedestrian and Vehicle Driver had been at a party. The vehicle driven by a 17 year old Female from Siksika struck an adult Male also from Siksika and fled the location.

The male’s injuries are considered life threatening and he was transported to Calgary Foothills hospital Via STARS.

Gleichen RCMP are continuing to investigate with the assistance of RCMP Forensic Identification Services and RCMP Collision Analyst.
