RCMP Cochrane: Updates


Theft of Motor Vehicles

On Wednesday June 29th 2016 at approximately 07:30 hrs, officers from the Cochrane RCMP detachment responded to a call of a stolen pick-up truck and trailer.  Officers located the stolen vehicle at a remote rural location on the Stoney Nakoda First Nation.  The suspect(s) fled in the vehicle causing a collision with an RCMP vehicle.  The suspect(s) then abandon the truck and stole another vehicle and fled to a location in Airdrie.  There the suspect(s) stole another vehicle and fled to a rural location in Maskwacis (Hobbema).  A search was conducted and one suspect was arrested.  The investigation is ongoing.  No police officers were injured in the collision.

Cochrane RCMP report body of missing 42-year-old male located 

Cochrane, Alta. – On June 27, 2016,  the Airdrie RCMP were called to the Costco parking lot, in Balzac Alberta, for  a report of a parked vehicle which had previously been reported associated to a missing person investigation.  Upon inspection of the vehicle, RCMP officers located the body of Jonathan Martinez inside his truck.  Airdrie RCMP investigated the circumstances of this incident.  An autopsy has been conducted and it is determined that this is not a suspicious death.
