Cochrane RCMP have completed the investigation into this matter. An autopsy was completed on Monday, November 3, 2014 and the cause of death was determined to be non-suspicious. Cochrane RCMP would like to thank the public who provided information in regards to this matter.
On November 1, 2014, at approximately 2:20am, the Stoney Nakoda Fire Department responded to a complaint of a vehicle fire received from a motorist travelling on highway 1A. Once the fire was extinguished human remains were discovered in this vehicle. This death is being investigated by the Cochrane RCMP General Investigation Section with assistance from Lethbridge Forensic Identification Section. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, November 3, 2014. No further information can be released at this time pending confirmation of the identity of the deceased.
