On November 21, 2015 at approximately 5:55 pm, a 2008 blue Kia Rio was traveling northbound on 4th Avenue West in Cochrane, Alberta. The blue Kia Rio was proceeding through the lights at Hwy 1A with the right of way, when a red older model SUV entered the intersection southbound and turned east. The two vehicles collided in the intersection. The red SUV then failed to stop at the scene of the collision. There were no injuries, and the collision is a property damage collision only.
This was the night of the Cochrane Light Up Event, and there was heavy traffic in the downtown area. Cochrane RCMP are seeking the driver of the red SUV to report the collision to police, and also searching for any witnesses to the collision.
