Cochrane, Alberta – On March 22nd 2016 at approximately 3:30 PM, Cochrane RCMP and other emergency services were called to a grass fire north west of the town of Cochrane, Alberta. A rural property owner just west of Highway 22 had been burning items on their farm when the fire began to spread due to the dry conditions of the area.
Cochrane RCMP along with members of the Rocky View Fire Department, Cochrane Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services attended the property. The fire departments were able to extinguish the fire but a barn as well as other property were burned in the fire. There were no injuries sustained in the fire and no animals were harmed.
