Cochrane RCMP Arrest Suspect in Armed Robbery
On December 3, 2015, Cochrane RCMP were granted a warrant for the arrest of Avery Hunter (30) of the Stoney First Nation for the criminal code offence of Robbery under section 344(1)(b).   The warrant for his arrest stemmed from an incident which occurred on December 1, 2015 in which it is alleged that Avery Hunter produced a knife and took a firearm from a 76 year old male of Cochrane, Alberta who had been hunting on the Stoney First Nation and had agreed to the sale of the firearm but had backed out of the deal.   Avery Hunter was known by the victim.   After numerous attempts to locate Avery Hunter he contacted Cochrane RCMP and surrendered in person to the Cochrane RCMP Detachment on December 9, 2015.   Avery Hunter was remanded in custody and is scheduled to make his first court appearance on December 15, 2015 at Cochrane Provincial Court.

RCMP Cochrane- Theft from Vehicles

Cochrane, Alberta – On December 14th 2015 the Cochrane RCMP responded to a number of complaints in the Fireside subdivision of thefts from vehicles as well as two vehicle thefts.

One vehicle has been recovered in the Fireside.  A Caucasian male with brown hair, late twenties or early thirties was seen at 4:15 AM near the recovered vehicle with a black SUV.

The second vehicle is still missing and is a grey Toyota RAV4 with an Alberta License plate of HAY966.  If anyone sees this vehicle occupied, RCMP advises not to approach but to call 911 right away.  If anyone sees this vehicle unoccupied, please call the complaint line at 403-932-2211.
