RCMP Coaldale – Two vehicle Injury Collision – Twp Road 100 at Range Road 225


Coaldale, Alberta – Coaldale RCMP along with the Coalhurst Fire Department, on June 2, 2016 at around 4:00 p.m., responded to a two vehicle collision at Township Road 100 at the intersection with Range Road 225. A purple Pontiac Torrent was heading eastbound on Township Road 100 when it failed to yield to a northbound black Dodge Neon.  The result was a t-bone type collision.  There was one female occupant of the Dodge Neon who was taken to the Lethbridge Regional Hospital as a precaution for possible neck type injuries.  There were four occupants of the Pontiac Torrent, a mother with three children ranging from ages 15 to 6.  The mother sustained head injuries, a male 15 year old sustained possible broken arm and leg injuries and a second male around 13 years of age was also suspected to have broken bones. All three were taken to the Lethbridge Regional Hospital for treatment.  The fourth passenger of the Pontiac Torrent was not injured.  None of the injuries are considered life threatening.

The Coaldale RCMP is investigating intersection related charges under the Highway Traffic Act.  There was no drug or alcohol involvement in this collision.
