RCMP Canmore Investigates Fraud Online


On February 19th, 2015, Canmore RCMP received a report of a fraud over an online gear swap. The victim transferred money to the proposed seller of the gear, and never received the gear as discussed. After investigation, a suspect was identified and questioned by police. During the investigation, the suspect admitted to a number of fraudulent transactions online.

41 year old Ian Spencer Shavalier is currently charged with one count of Fraud.

The Canmore RCMP is asking the public for assistance in this investigation.
