Boyle, Alberta – The man charged in connection with the theft of a 2014 Sochi Olympic ring has pled guilty to two counts of break and enter.
On July 22nd, 2014 Terrell Cardinal, 23, pled guilty in Boyle Provincial Court to two counts of break and enter. Cardinal was sentenced to one year imprisonment and ordered to pay a $200 victim surcharge for his involvement in the theft of the ring. The ring had been stolen from Mr. Jacobs hotel room during a charity golf event.
Mr. Jacobs expects to have his Olympic ring reunited with him shortly. Other property stolen in the break-ins has been returned to their rightful owners.
“Our ultimate goal was to recover the stolen property and see it returned to the victims,” said Cst. Alex Ayres. “We are pleased to see this investigation come to a conclusion with a successful prosecution in Court.”
A female charged in this investigation is set to make her first appearance in Boyle Provincial Court on August 26th, 2014.
