Banff, Alberta – On June 10, 2014 Constable Cutcliffe and Constable Dumon-Fontaine of the Banff RCMP were charged with one count of being Unlawfully in a dwelling contrary to section 349 (1) and one count of Obstruct Justice 139(2) respectively.
The officers will make a first appearance in Canmore Provincial Court on August 13, 2014.
The charges are the result of an RCMP investigation into an on-duty related incident. The incident occurred on June 26, 2103 involving an unrelated civilian.
Constable Dumon-Fontaine and Constable Cutcliffe have been suspended from duty pending the resolution of the charges against them. An internal RCMP Code of Conduct investigation has been ordered and will be completed upon resolution of the court process.
