Stolen Truck Recovered

Airdrie, Alberta – On January 10th, 2015 at approximately 7:00 am, an rural resident on Highway 566 started their truck and left it outside to warm up.

When the resident returned they found that the truck had been stolen.

The truck was later recovered by Chestermere RCMP on January 11th, 2015 at 4:00 am. Suspects fled the scene. There was substantial damage to the undercarriage of the vehicle.

The vehicle has been seized and is being investigated by RCMP Forensic Identification Section. The vehicles license plate has yet to be recovered.

Airdrie RCMP would like to remind the public not to leave vehicles unlocked or running with the keys inside of them. Many crimes are crimes of opportunity.

Airdrie RCMP Requesting Assistance from Public to Identify Suspect

Quick Cash Suspect - Airdrie RCMPAirdrie, Alberta –On January 2nd, 2015, at a 7:50 p.m. an unidentified male entered the Main Street Petland Store in Airdrie.

The man purchased a small item and completed a fraudulent transaction unknown to the clerk, and succeeded in obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash.

The male departed the store. RCMP was contacted and video surveillance was collected. The suspect is described as;

·         Dark skin

·         Short black receding hair

·         Thin black moustache

·         Slight build

·         Wearing a large black winter jacket

Theft of Equipment Part

Airdrie, Alberta – Sometime between December 12th and December 20th, 2014, thieves entered the Airdrie Storage Mart and removed an alternator from an excavator that was stored on site.

Owners of the excavator discovered the missing part and reported to police. There appeared to be no damage to the storage facilities gate or fence, and video surveillance was non-operational at the time.

Theft of Knife Block from Walmart

Airdrie, Alberta – On November 26th, 2014, a unidentified male entered the Airdrie Walmart store at 10:00 a.m. The male selected a knife block and attended the customer service counter. The male claimed he was returning the item but did not have the receipt. Staff told the male they could not return the item without the receipt and the male departed the store with the item.

It was later realized that the knife block was missing from inventory. Video surveillance was reviewed and provided to RCMP. Unfortunately footage is not suitable for release.

Male is described as;

·         East Indian

·         Mid 40’s

·         Dark, balding hair

·         Dark jacket
