RCMP Airdrie – Macs Convenience Store Robbery, Request Assistance to Identify


Airdrie, Alberta – In the early hours of August 8th, 2014, Airdrie RCMP was dispatched to a complaint of Robbery at the Macs Convenience Store on Summerfield Blvd.

At approximately 5:30am, a male entered the Macs Store, approached the store clerk, pushed him, then grabbed the cash register and ran out of the store into a waiting vehicle. The store clerk immediately sounded the store’s hold-up alarm and police were dispatched. The clerk sustained no injuries.

Airdrie RCMP City Watch Members and Airdrie RCMP General Investigative Section attended the scene, interviewed witnesses and obtained video surveillance. A short time later RCMP received a call that the register had been located near Highway 2 and Highway 566 in Balzac.

The Airdrie RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the male. Male is described as;

Surveillance Still (2) Male

– Approximately 30 years old

– Approximately 5’6”

– Medium build

– Dark skin

– Short dark hair

– Wearing a black shirt and jeans with glasses
