RCMP Airdrie – Inert Grenade Found in Vehicle


Airdrie, Alberta – On August 5th, shortly before noon, Airdrie RCMP received a call from Adessa, a vehicle auction business.

Employees at Adessa had located what appeared to be a grenade in the glove box of a vehicle. RCMP members attended and cleared the area around the vehicle. RCMP Explosive Disposal Unit (EDU) of Edmonton was contacted.

With direction from EDU, RCMP on scene members were able to safely identify the grenade as inert, at which point it was removed and taken to Airdrie Detachment to await proper disposal.
