Oilfields High alumni Kyle Robb is co-producing a short movie called PSYBORGS with friend, and writer, David Hiatt. According to the creators PSYBORGS is about an elite team of psychic cybernetic super-soldiers banded together to destroy the insidious forces of T.O.X.I.N. In case you haven’t figured it out yet…..yes, it’s a comedy!
After pitching the idea to Telus’ StoryHive they were one of 30 projects to receive $10,000 in funding to create and enter it in the competition. StoryHive is a production funding and distribution competition for emerging content creators in BC and Alberta. The top 30 digital shorts from BC and AB will then move on to the next stage where one winner in each province receives the Top Award, each consisting of customized career training and mentorship programs, a scholarship to the Banff World Media Festival and distribution on select TELUS platforms. Fans, friends, family and the community can vote for their favourite short movie February 9th to March 4th which will help determine the winners!
