Provost RCMP Advise Armed and Dangerous Man Eluding Police

Provost, AB – Last night at approximately 7:30 p.m., members of the Provost RCMP detachment received a report of a woman who had been forced at gun point to drive a man from Consort to Wainwright.

The woman had managed to flee the vehicle when it stopped at a gas station in Czar and police were contacted at that time.

The 31-year-old man, identified as Jason Masse, fled the station on foot and has eluded police despite extensive efforts to locate him using the RCMP’s Police Dog Services (PDS) and a search utilizing additional members from surrounding detachments.  The search of the vehicle in which Masse was riding last night did not locate the handgun it is alleged he was carrying.  Police believe that he may be in possession of the handgun still and that he may be headed for the Edmonton area.
