High River, AB: High River residents have the opportunity to meet the stars of the High River Regional Air Show including the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, CF18 Hornet Pilots and the SkyHawks parachute demonstration team at a “Pilots and Parachutes Picnic in the Park” event. The picnic will take place on Tuesday, July 22 from 5:30 to 8 pm at George Lane Memorial Park.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the residents of High River. Not only are we hosting an air show of this calibre at our regional airport but residents are able to meet and chat with the stars of the show. This is an incredible honour and opportunity,” says Dayna Dickens, business and tourism development coordinator for the Town of High River.
“We are very excited to be coming to High River in July for an outstanding show,” said Captain Thomas Edelson, the squadron public affairs officer. “It is quite rare that a show hosts all three demonstration teams and we are looking forward to our time in Alberta.”
Attendees are encouraged to bring their friends and families and pack or pick up a picnic. Numerous businesses and restaurants around town are offering a “picnic in a box” that can be purchased on the way to the Park. Participating vendors include:
*Boston Pizza
