Picture Butte RCMP Investigate Dirt Biking Fatality

Diamond City, Alberta – On August 7, 2016 at 4:44 p.m. the Picture Butte RCMP responded to a call of a single vehicle (dirt bike) collision that occurred on a private property east of Diamond City.  A dirt bike rider with a group of 3 other riders crashed while attempting to navigate steep terrain.  The young rider was unconscious on arrival of the RCMP.

Lethbridge EMS and Coalhurst Fire and Rescue assisted in transporting the youth to a hospital in Lethbridge.  He was later transported via STARS Air Ambulance to a hospital in Calgary.

Early this morning the 16-year-old male succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

The Picture Butte RCMP investigated this collision and have determined that this was not a suspicious occurrence.  The name of the young male will not be released by RCMP.
