Cochrane, Alberta – On July 1, 2015 at 11:45 p.m. Cochrane RCMP officers were dispatched to the report of a man on the ground on Highway 1 by Morley Road in Cochrane, Alberta. It was soon discovered that the individual was deceased and an investigation was initiated.
RCMP Southern Alberta Major Crimes Unit investigators, assisted Cochrane RCMP officers in the investigation which resulted in charging Tristan WESLEY, 27, with Second Degree Murder in relation to the death of the 55-year-old man, as well as Assault Causing Bodily Harm and Uttering Threats .
Both victim and accused are from the Morley First Nation.
WESLEY has been remanded in custody to appear in Cochrane Provincial Court on July 21, 2015.
