The Calgary Regional Consortium is hosting three math sessions for parents of students in Kindergarten to Grade 6 in February and March 2016.
The sessions will focus on understanding how learners move from counting, to reasoning about addition and subtraction, to “knowing” facts and the differences between addition and multiplication — as strategies for learning multiplication and division cannot rely on counting or adding.
Each session will provide parents with tasks to use at home and ways to practice with their child(ren). Teachers are also welcome to attend!
Parents and teachers are invited to attend one session or all three. Each session, which is being held in SW Calgary, runs from 6:15-8:15 p.m. and is $10 per person.
