Okotoks RCMP Seized Stolen Firearm, Money and Drugs

Okotoks, Alta. – On Dec. 10, 2019, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Okotoks RCMP Members conducted a traffic stop at Elizabeth Street and Northridge Drive in Okotoks.

During the course of the investigation, police located a small quantity of marihuana, cocaine, Canadian currency and a loaded 9mm handgun. Further investigation revealed the loaded handgun was stolen from Winkler, Manitoba in 2018.

Romeo Abraham (21) of Calgary has been charged with the following:

·  Unauthorized possession of a restricted weapon

·   Possession of a restricted weapon when knowing possession is unauthorized

·   Possession of a firearm/ammunition in a motor vehicle

·   Possession of a restricted firearm with ammo without a licence

·   Possession of a weapon obtained by crime

·   Possession for the purpose of trafficking: cocaine

·   Trafficking of property obtained by crime over $5000

·   Drive while unauthorized

·   Failure to comply with conditions (x2)

He was remanded into custody following a judicial hearing and is scheduled to appear in Okotoks Provincial Court on Dec. 20, 2019.

Tamanna Dhillon (19) from Calgary has been charged with the following:

·   Unauthorized possession of a restricted weapon

·   Possession of a restricted weapon when knowing possession is unauthorized

·   Possession of a firearm/ammunition in a motor vehicle

·   Possession of a restricted firearm with ammo without a licence

·   Possession of a weapon obtained by crime

·   Possession for the purpose of trafficking: cocaine

She was released on a Recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Okotoks Provincial Court on Jan. 24, 2020.
