Okotoks RCMP on Scene at a Vehicle in the Bow River – Deerfoot Trail South

RCMP Logo 200x200Okotoks, Alberta – At 2:55 p.m. today, Okotoks RCMP were dispatched to attend a collision which occurred on Highway 2, Deerfoot Trail, on the Dunbow Bridge.  Preliminary investigation shows that a vehicle travelling northbound on Highway 2 drove into the median on the bridge which caused the vehicle to be launched into the river below.

RCMP can confirm that there was one deceased male found in the vehicle.  Efforts are currently being made to remove the vehicle from the river.

Although one lane of travel is open in each direction on Highway 2 in this area, traffic is becoming very backed up.  Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area while rescue crews are on scene.

    There were drivers driving on the shoulder to bypass traffic. I wish the police were able to stop them from being jerks to the other patient drivers.
