On July 27, 2014 shortly after 7:00 PM the Okotoks RCMP, High River Integrated Traffic services, Okotoks Fire and EMS responded to a 2 vehicle collision on Highway 2A. The collision occured approximately 1 km south of the Aldersyde Petro Canada. According to witnesses, the driver of a silver Ford SUV was traveling southbound in the northbound lane. The driver of an oncoming Chevrolet Tahoe pulled over to the shoulder to avoid a collision, in doing so the driver of the Tahoe lost control and rolled. The vehicle struck the side of a south bound Chevrolet Traverse. The driver of the silver Ford SUV stopped initially, but then left the scene before police arrived.
3 of the occupants in the Tahoe were taken to hospital with unknown injuries. The lone occupant of the Traverse was not injured.
