Okotoks Long Serving CAO to Depart June 30, 2016


Rick Quail OkotoksRick Quail, Chief Administrative Officer has announced his departure from the Town of Okotoks effective June 30, 2016 after over 27 years of public service.

“I wish to express my heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for the opportunity to serve the citizens of our community in the capacity of CAO for the past 12 years. “  Quail said in a statement.

“On behalf of Okotoks Town Council, we want to sincerely thank Rick for 27 years of exemplary service to the Town of Okotoks.  Under his tutelage, Okotoks has become a leader in so many areas of municipal service and delivery and has attained a reputation of excellence.” stated Mayor Bill Robertson.

Okotoks has been awarded many provincial, national and international awards for various aspects of Okotoks’ initiatives, infrastructure and programs. Mayor Robertson added “in my travels across the province, it is evident that Okotoks is highly respected and this is due in large part to Rick Quail’s leadership and vision.”

Council will begin recruiting for a new Chief Administrative Officer which we anticipate will take a few months to fill.  In the meantime, we have a competent group of staff who will continue to provide the best level of services to our citizens.

Mr. Quail and his wife Terry plan to remain in Okotoks and continue to enjoy the many benefits our community provides.
