Join us at the 13th Annual Charity Check Stop, December 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. on Milligan Drive at the Okotoks Recreation Centre.
Local emergency Services personnel, including Okotoks Municipal Enforcement, RCMP, Fire Department and Foothills Victim Services will be conducting a “check stop” to collect food, unwrapped toys and/or monetary donations from the travelling public for the Okotoks Food Bank and Rowan House.
These organizations provide a vital service to those less fortunate in our community and help brighten many people’s lives. Emergency Responders and Victim Services usually interact with people during negative events; the Charity Check is an opportunity to have a positive interaction with the public while helping to support those in need.
In 2018, the Charity Check Stop raised more than $6,000 and filled four pickup trucks with food for the Okotoks Food Bank and the Rowan House Emergency Shelter. We are challenging the community to help surpass last year’s donations during this year’s event.
