Oilfields High Welcomes New Band Teacher

Please join us in welcoming new teacher Mr. Daniel Tieman to our Band program at OHS!

My Name is Daniel Tieman and I am glad to be here at Oilfields.

I am very excited to be working with the regional band program. I come from a very extensive musical background. I started piano lessons at a young age and knew that music was going to be a significant part of my life.

After high school I studies for one year at the University of Lethbridge and finished my Bachelor of Music in Theory & Composition at the University of Saskatchewan focusing my studies on piano, orchestration, composition, theory, and conducting. After a few years in the retail and wholesale world I felt the call to become a teacher and enrolled to the University of Alberta where I majored in Music and minored in Religious and Moral Education. I obtained my Bachelor of Education in Secondary Education in 2013. Since then I have had the pleasure of teaching music from grades K-12, junior high electives, religious education, health, and more. Throughout my musical career I have been blessed to be able to work and play with so many talented individuals and groups and my hope is that this will continue at Oilfields.

Thank you all for having me!
