We expect to see increased need for at least 4 months and possibly for the balance of 2020. These are uncertain times and quite unpredictable but we are in it together. The Oilfields Food Bank will remain open and ensure our community members do not go hungry.
HOW TO MAKE A HAMPER REQUEST:
As always, we are open every Tuesday from 1 – 3pm but our procedures have changed during Covid-19.
To request a hamper please call Mondays between 9am and 6pm or Tuesdays between 9am and 2pm and we will do the in-take over the phone: 403 – 612 – 1291
You will be given a pick-up time for Tuesday and your hamper will be placed outside for you to load into your vehicle.
Clients may use the food bank once a month for the duration of the pandemic.
First-time users are required to bring photo ID and proof of residence (i.e. utility bill) when they make their initial pick-up. This will not be needed on subsequent visits.
We would like to keep drop-off donations to a minimum. Our volunteers are awesome and to protect them we want to limit the amount of extra handling and sorting they need to do during the pandemic. The Food Bank places a weekly order with the grocery store to re-stock our inventory. We will accept drop-off food on Tuesdays from 11am to noon.
Cash donations are very welcome. Cheques (made payable to “Oilfields Food Bank”) may be mailed to: Oilfields Food Bank, Box 1318, Turner Valley, AB T0L 2A0.
