What a great success this was (as usual!)! Our communities are known for their generosity and heart and we thank them. We had many willing volunteers and every one was very much appreciated.
A heartfelt thank you to the Fire Departments from Longview, Black Diamond & Turner Valley. Their assistants for these 2 evenings were the local Cubs & Scouts groups with their leaders. They worked so hard to distribute & organize the many food offerings that were gathered.
Another big thank you goes to our regular hardworking volunteers who always help and offered a welcomed coffee, hot chocolate and snack break for the tired workers. Two of our regular week-after-week volunteers, Marcus and Laura Burn, weighed all of the incoming food and heavy boxes – what would we do without you?
Last, but not least, Oilfields High School students came to lend a hand too and we thank them for their good works.

Food Bank Useage Is up significantly
It’s a challenging time. Once we get to the end of December we’ll include our 2016 statistics in our first e-news of the year.
So far in 2016 we have distributed 346 hampers which have fed 623 adults and 330 children. One of the most telling statistics is that 65 of our clients are first-timers who have never used a Food Bank before.
Thank you for your continued generosity, it does so much to quietly support and lift up those around you.
We wish a Merry Christmas to the folks who donate food, those who sort & distribute food items, & those who use the food bank because of necessity.
