The Town of Okotoks has launched a pilot Non-Residential Water Conservation Rebate Program for commercial, industrial and institutional properties in Okotoks. All property owners and tenants are eligible to apply for a rebate for a demonstrated and/or third party tested water conserving initiative as approved by the Town’s Environment and Sustainability Department.
The pilot program will run until 4 p.m. on December 31, 2014, or until the $10,000 fund is depleted. The program is run on a “first-come, first-served basis” with funds being earmarked for applicants based on the date and time a fully completed Pre-Approval Application form is received by the Town. Pre-Approval Applications received after a total of $10,000 has been earmarked, will be placed on a waiting list.
Eligible rebates, as approved through pre-application to the Town’s Environment and Sustainability Department, will be based on a 50% of total purchase up to a maximum of $1,000 per business/institution. Water conserving initiatives implemented prior to the announcement of this Pilot Program will be eligible (based on approval) if purchased and implemented after January 1, 2014.
The initiative(s) must either be a product upgrade/replacement or a new initiative that goes beyond the requirements of the Town of Okotoks Water Bylaw (Bylaw 22-11). All initiatives must be in compliance with any associated Town of Okotoks, provincial and/or federal codes.
