Alberta Justice and Solicitor General is now accepting nominations for the 25th annual Community Justice Awards, which recognize individuals and organizations that are leading community safety and crime prevention initiatives.
Nominations can be submitted by members of the public in the categories of leadership, innovation, service enhancement, community mobilization, and partnerships and collaboration. Past award recipients have included youth justice committees, victim services and restorative justice programs.
“Keeping our communities safe is a shared responsibility that helps build strong and vibrant communities. The Community Justice Awards are a great way to thank those who help make Alberta communities safe and resilient. I encourage anyone who knows of a deserving individual or organization to submit a nomination.”
~ Kathleen Ganley, Minister of Justice and Solicitor General
The deadline for nominations is noon on Friday, March 18.
Awards will be presented in June, at a ceremony at McDougall Centre in Calgary. The event will be co-hosted by Justice and Solicitor General and the Medicine Hat Police Service.
