Newfie Night in Nanton ~ Screeched Up a Storm


IMAG2252One hundred and thirty four people attended the Boys & Girls Club of the Foothills Newfie Night in Nanton on May 28th.  The event was a fundraiser for the people from Fort McMurray.

There were about 10 Fort Mac evacuees in attendance and those I had a chance to speak with were all very grateful for the event and all were intending to return home as soon as they possibly could.

It was one of the best Newfie Nights I have attended and kudos to the organizers! Dinner was a steak and whole lobster with all the trimmings. The Foothills Lions Club travelling BBQers did an awesome job of the steaks and the lobsters were cooked to perfection.

The Newfie night wouldn’t have been complete without the Atlantic Storm band who ceremoniously ‘screeched in’ several guests.
