Foothills School Division applauds the news of a new public school for Okotoks.
The Alberta Government has announced 55 new schools and 20 modernizations. These new commitments include $43.2 million in funding to school boards this year to begin immediate planning.
The new Okotoks school allocated for FSD will serve students in Kindergarten through grade 9, and will have a capacity of 500-700 students.
“This is extremely welcome news for Foothills School Division and our school families in Okotoks, where we have been facing significant enrolment pressure for some time now,” said John Bailey, Superintendent of Schools. “We look forward to receiving additional details, and working with the provincial government during the planning phase.”
