NDP Government Out of Touch on the Impact of Their Policies: Wildrose

Wildrose News Release bannerEDMONTON, AB: Wildrose Shadow Jobs Minister Grant Hunter today released the following statement after Lethbridge West MLA Maria Fitzpatrick called a local business owner trying to stay afloat because of NDP policies “selfish”:

“It is incredibly disappointing to see Ms. Fitzpatrick react to a local business owner attempting to combat risky NDP policies by attacking the business owner instead of reflecting on the damage her government’s policies are doing.

“Instead of recognizing the effect the economic downturn and NDP policies are having, the NDP are calling a business owner who is trying to employ as many people as possible instead of closing his doors ‘selfish.’

“Albertans are paying the price for the NDP government’s reckless approach to the economy, and my fear is that we will only continue to see more and more stories like this the longer the NDP stay in power.

“If he is serious about drumming up business and investment in our province, Economic Development Minister Deron Bilous must disavow Ms. Fitzpatrick’s comments, and she should personally apologize to this local business owner who is just trying to get by.

“Wildrose will continue to be on the side of everyday Albertans and small business owners who deserve better than the treatment they are receiving from the NDP.”
