The Federation of Calgary Communities, SAIT and P2S Calgary are hosting a workshop on June 13th from 4:00-7:30pm at SAIT Culinary Gardens to delve deep into the challenges of urban redevelopment and sustainability.
This is an opportunity for the development community to engage with students, community associations, and professionals and faculty from across the broad spectrum of green building and urban sustainability.
Featured speakers at this event include Dr. Geoff Ghitter from the University of Calgary speaking to the redevelopment of Manchester Industrial District and Dan Godin with the Federation of Calgary Communities with an introduction to the development challenges faced by the Community of Fairview.
The event will be hosted at SAIT’s Culinary Gardens with Chef Andrew Hewson cooking up some Forno Oven pizza for guests, and providing tours of the Apiary and Solar Green House. Rebecca Davidson with the SAIT Green Building Technologies will also be speaking to some of SAIT’s interesting green tech projects, with onsite demonstrations of solar and other technologies for green buildings.
This event is an important opportunity to interact with some of Calgary’s leading thinkers in urban sustainability as they deliberate and navigate challenges of redevelopment in existing communities.
Pathways 2 Sustainability is a non-profit conference and round-table initiative run by the company Sustainability Resources Ltd. with the support of local sponsors: DIRTT, ENMAX, 3-Point Environmental, and SAIT to advance solutions for sustainability.
