Nanton RCMP – Joint Operation

On Saturday October 24th, Nanton RCMP and Claresholm Fish and Wildlife teamed up to patrol the area west of Hwy 22.

Then again, on Sunday October 25th, the Forces were out on patrol on the opening day of rifle season in the area, just west of Nanton.

The two local agencies joined forces to combat the issues that come with the increased traffic in the area and to talk with the landowners and hunters alike. Over the two day operation they spoke with over a hundred hunters ensuring they are complying with all of the hunting and firearms regulations as well as, other provincial acts.

“Prior to rifle season opening Nanton RCMP have had an increase in hunting related complaints from landowners, as well as, a general increase in property crimes in the rural area surrounding Nanton.” Cpl. Travis Ogilvie – Nanton Detachment.
