Moved-On Homes in Turner Valley

By “moved-on homes” the Town of Turner Valley is referring to the purchase of a house that has to be moved into town. There have been complaints about some of these houses being trucked in, placed on a foundation and then no further upgrades were done leaving them unfinished and unsightly.

The Town is working on a new by-law to deal with this issue. They aren’t banning these homes as rumours have suggested.

The Municipal Planning Committee is working on some guidelines to be presented to council by the end of September. In the meantime anyone wishing to move a house in should be dealing with the planning committee directly and getting some direction.

As with all development there are standards that must be adhered to and that’s what the new by-law should achieve.

If you have any questions regarding this or other issues please contact the Town of Turner Valley.
