Environment Minister Shannon Phillips will highlight Alberta’s Climate Leadership Plan and the importance of moving Alberta’s resources to market at the GLOBE 2018: Leadership Summit for Sustainable Business in Vancouver, B.C., from March 13 to 15.
Minister Phillips will speak at the GLOBE 2018 forum and meet with business leaders to promote market access and emphasize the success of Alberta’s Climate Leadership Plan. The summit provides an important setting to attract new investment that will boost economic diversification and job-creation in Alberta.
“This summit is an excellent opportunity for Alberta to build relationships and share the transformative vision of Alberta’s Climate Leadership Plan – the plan that paved the way for federal climate policy and secured new pipeline approvals. Economic and environmental success are founded on diverse and enthusiastic partners at all levels of government, and I look forward to connecting, sharing ideas and discussing solutions that will guide and inspire global business and sustainability policies.”
~Shannon Phillips, Minister of Environment and Parks and Minister responsible for the Climate Change Office
Over 2,000 business and government leaders from over 50 countries will be in attendance. During the three-day summit, Minister Phillips will meet with key stakeholders including the British Columbia Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade to discuss shared priorities such as building national energy infrastructure and creating jobs.
GLOBE, North America’s largest and longest-running leadership summit for sustainable business, brings together corporations, all levels of government, NGOs, international agencies, technology innovators and the finance community to accelerate the global shift to a cleaner, more sustainable economy.
