The Millarville Stockland 4-H Club held their parent meeting on October 7th followed by our reorganizational meeting on October 14th. We were sad to see some of our old members go but happy to welcome some new ones (Jolene Bohn, Harry Rawn and Jessie Blatz). Our new executive is as follows: President – Sierra Beck, Vice President – April Jardie, Secretary – Carson Campbell, Treasurer – Finn Blatz (second year), Parliamentarian – Megan Rawn, Historian – Sage Runge, District Representative – Jolene Bohn, Phoning Committee – Ewan Carter and Wyatt Runge.
Our club held it’s “spooky” weigh in on October 31st at the Black Diamond Land and Cattle Co. Thank you very much to the ranch for letting us use their fantastic facility, we really appreciate it. The calves looked great! Some members even had their animals halter broke, others will need some work.
This will be an exciting year for us down at 4-H on Parade next June as we are the club that will have the Charity Steer. A big thank you goes to the Blatz family for volunteering to provide our steer a place to live and take care of it. We are looking for individuals or companies to sponsor the original purchase price of our steer, it’s feed costs, and to buy it next June 5, 2016 at the infamous 4-H on Parade Sale. We are looking forward to a busy November with our regular meeting on the 11th and our workshop meeting on the 25th.
