Club Reporter Ethan Beck
This month began with Achievement Day held on May 9th. There were lots of cattle and sheep there and all were very tame. The day began with the sheep show. Everyone did a great job prepping their sheep for the show; their fleece was white as snow. The results are as follows:
- The Grand Champion Market lamb went to Sasha Lewis with Sierra Beck in Reserve.
- The Sr Showmanship winner was Kendra Mackenzie, Int Showmanship was won by Elizabeth Campbell and Jr Showmanship was won by Genevieve Moreau.
- The Ewe Lamb class was won by Genevieve Moreau, Yearling Lambs was won by Sage Runge and Travis Tudor won the Pen of Three class. Sage Runge won Grand Champion Breeding Ewe.
The cattle show began with the steers. It was a very competitive but in the end it was Sierra Beck that won Grand Champion with Martie Blatz as Reserve. In showmanship it was Martie Blatz who won in the Seniors, Finn Blatz in the Intermediate and Clara Blatz for Juniors; boy those Blatzs are good at showmanship. Best Junior Heifer went to Ewan Carter. Best Intermediate Heifer went to Amy Jardie and Best Senior Heifer went to Martie Blatz. Best 2 yr old Cow/calf went to Martie Blatz. Best 3 yr old Cow/calf went to Hunter Egeland. Best junior steer was won by Ewan Carter, Intermediate Finn Blatz and Senior Sierra Beck. Grand Champion Female went to Martie Blatz and Reserve to Hunter Egeland. Top Grown Heifer went to Amy Jardie. Top Grown Steer went to Martie Blatz and Top Herd Class was won by Hunter Egeland. “Way to Go” the Cleaver Kids: Tanner Watkins, Tait Ackermann, Nathaniel Moreau and Augustine Moreau you all did awesome. Congratulations to all the members they worked really hard and did a great job bringing a tame animal. A big thank you to our Judges, our Sheep judge Zane Ashbacher, our Beef Judge Russell Sevcik and Carson Campbell for handling the animals in the ring.
