Millarville School News – Principal’s Message for December

MCS bandDecember is finally here and the Christmas season started off with a bang last week with our grade 6-8 students’ performance at Oilfields for our annual junior high band concert. I remember fondly my time in junior high when I first picked up the trombone, blew my first couple of notes and then was asked to perform. I thank my parents for attending those first couple of painful concerts as my fellow band geeks and I worked our way through our first few songs. This concert was not like that.

The bands performed excellently alongside the Oilfields senior band and a variety of other “senior” performers last Thursday. Many thanks go to Mr. Taylor and Mr. Benson for the hours of work with our students who came to perform that night. Finally, a huge thank-you to all of the families who came and supported the band program with your attendance, bake sale items and purchases. We appreciate your support.
